Project Description

SEE BEYOND SEEING:

Ancient Tracks of Doñana

SPAIN

February 2 – 6, 2026

This isn’t a course. It’s a conversation.

A week to quiet the noise and remember how to listen—to the land, and to the quiet, knowing part of yourself that the modern world often drowns out.

Is this experience for you?

We will be immersing ourselves in the art of tracking, reading animal signs, moving quietly, senses attuned, unfolding the story the animals and the land are telling.

But that’s just the surface.

The real magic happens when that outer skill becomes an inner practice. When you start to notice how you track your own thoughts, or follow the trail of your intuition. It’s about getting deeply, wonderfully lost in the art of presence, and in the process, finding a more connected way to be.

In short, you’ll learn to see the world—and your place in it—with a different eye and new perspectives.

THE INVITATION

Imagine a place where the sand remembers.

Where the wind tells stories and every bent blade of grass is a sentence in a story much older than our own.

This is Doñana. Here, your footsteps will fall where Neanderthals once walked, and the line between past and present simply dissolves.

Doñana National Park is a living mosaic of beaches, dunes, forests, and wide marshes that shelter thousand of migrating birds and rare wildlife like the Iberian lynx and imperial eagle, inviting you to pause, listen, and marvel—an ideal place to practice the art of tracking.

Following tracks is more than finding footprints. It’s a way of seeing — a practice that grows awareness, humility and intuition. Step into this art, and you step into being more human, more present, more whole. This work invites us to slow down, pay attention and return to the present moment.

THIS JOURNEY IS FOR YOU IF…

You feel the call to remember a deeper, more resonant way of being. You are a seeker, a leader, a creative soul, or a weary heart longing to drink from a wilder source. You are ready to walk with curiosity, to listen more than you speak, and to meet the world—and yourself—with a renewed sense of wonder.

THE HEART OF IT

At TrailHaven, we believe that nature is the best teacher. We don’t have all the answers. Instead, we create the space—the container—for you to find your own. This journey is built on the simple, radical idea that when we reconnect with the natural world, we remember who we truly are.

FACULTY

STANI
Groeneweg

Tracker and Wilderness Guide

Tracking is an immersive and grounding practice that sharpens your senses and connects you to nature in a profound way

A lifelong student of nature, Stani feels most at home in the wild. As a professional tracker and wilderness guide his experience spans deserts, jungles, mountains, and savannas around the world. Stani weaves tracking skills with presence and curiosity to cultivate connective awareness.

JOSÉ MARÍA
Galán

Senior Tracker and Naturalist

There is a language older than words, written in dust and dew. When we track, we read that language — and remember who we are.

A Senior Tracker and naturalist, José María was pivotal in discovering the Neanderthal footprints of Matalascañas. He is a living bridge to the deep past, teaching us to read the literal narratives of Doñana—the same land he has dedicated his life to understanding.

Gerard
van den Berg

With over 25 years of experience guiding people back into connection with their natural selves and the wild places around them. Expert in expedition design, Wilderness Guide training, and trail-based learning. When not guiding, he's likely being chased through Spanish canyons by his three young boys.
